Heartfelt Thanks

Dear Brother Fox,

We extend your family and organization, The Reclaim Kids our heartfelt
thanks, gratitude and appreciation in the one and only name of Jesus
Christ. We are over whelmed, grateful to God first and your organization,
for granting our school the Apostolic Christian Academy (ACA) back to
life.  The school was at the verge of breaking down. The whole school
building was leaking and we had no money to carry on renovation. You came
in just in time by helping us with USD $ 2,500.00. That was a greatly
relief. We were able to re-zinc the building and as a result, we now have
over 250 students. The bulk of our students’ parents are low income
earners, our annual school fees including registration is put at USD $
35.00 per student. We are doing that to help others because we also
received help from your organization. As a result students are pulling in
on us everyday and most of them are kindergarten kids from the community.
We thank God for such an embarrassment. We’ve gone out class room space.
Since we have the old church building with no roof and doors and we are
building a new church building, we have made an arrangement to put roof on
that old building and use it for the kindergarten section. That will be
used for the daycares since parents are asking for such. My wife Sister
Korboi will take care of that section since she is already with them. We
are trusting God to provide costs for the renovation which is US 6,265.00
surely know that God is able. He did it before and he can do it again and
again.

The mission continues

Anthropologist Margaret Mead said “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Our goal at ReclaimKids has never been to affect global policy or world events, but we feel we can change the world for a child by giving them H.O.P.E. (Housing, Opportunity, Protection, and an Education). That has been our heart and soul since our inception in 2005, and it continues to inspire us every day.

The mission continues on November 10, 2016 as Clyde and Daphyne travel to Liberia to evaluate operations and hand out 800 Bibles donated by the Youth of Ohio. There are a number of exciting opportunities and projects ReclaimKids is involved with, including upgrading the clinic, improving our recently-completed library, and constructing a computer lab. We may be a small organization, but we are thoughtful, and we are most certainly committed. According to Margaret Mead, we have everything we need to change the world. Join Us.

Arrival

Great news from Liberia! The shipping container has arrived just in time for a new school year! The school supplies ReclaimKids distributes every year are are important for all of the children and schools we partner with, but for the children in the interior of Liberia, these supplies are absolutely essential – without them, It is doubtful that a majority of students would have the materials needed to be successful. Each year we look to contact and partner with a greater number of students and schools so we can help as many people as possible. It is truly an honor and a privilege to support Liberias youth and future!

Along with the school supplies, we have sent a rather impressive upgrade to the clinic in Paynesville in the form of two ultrasound machines! The ultrasound machines are a huge leap forward for the clinic, allowing them to see inside the human body and detect breeched babies, determine sex, detect ectopic pregnancies, see tumors, identify structural defects in the heart, and measure blood flow through the heart and major blood vessels.

These shipments to Liberia are having a dramatic effect on the lives of many, many people. The impact spreads with each shipping container we send, and has in fact eclipsed the reach of ReclaimKids as an organization. We were so thrilled to learn recently that the clinic in Paynesville has been regularly providing assistance to the government hospital in Monrovia when they are in need of supplies! What a wonderful testament to the generous and gracious staff we have there in Paynesville! We are immensely proud of them!

(WOW!) Bible Drive update!

Awesome. Incredible. Marvelous. These are just a few words that describe the results of our Bible Drive in February. Our booth at Midwinter was awash in a generous flood of donations. Youth Leaders and young people alike stopped by the booth to offer what they could, and wish us well as we take food, medicine, and the Word of God to precious people who desperately need it. And even though the drive is over, we are still seeing donations show up in the mail.

I want to say “Thank You” from all of us here at ReclaimKids to all those who gave, and are continuing to give. Your care and generosity warms my heart, and i can assure you it will be felt in a big way as we hand out the Bibles, and the children see your names on them. I am looking forward to sharing the hope we have in Jesus with as many young people as possible.

$2 Bible Drive

$2 Bible Drive

Happy New Year from ReclaimKids!

We are kicking this year off with an ambitious vision to join forces with every young person across the nation in an effort to put a bible in the hands of each child we work with.

“…a bible in the hands of each child…”

In order to accomplish this, we will be conducting a ‘$2 Bible Drive’ from now until February 28th. If everyone who reads this would donate just $2, our goal could be realized in just a few short weeks.

     What $2 can buy:
  • 1 can of Red Bull
  • 2 packs of gum
  • 10 lives in Candy Crush
  or
• A Bible for a child and their family to cherish for a lifetime

 

Not only do we want to extend the Word of God to as many people as possible, but we want to do it in a deeply personal way.  To this end, on the inside cover of each Bible, we will include the name of each person who donates.

We sincerely hope that you will make an effort to help us spread the Gospel of Christ in word and in deed around the world this year.

Bringing Change in 2014

The year 2013 was a very exciting year for ReclaimKids and the first half of 2014 is proving to be the same. There have been some minor changes on the board among the officers, Rev. David Ward is now Chairman of the Board and Clyde Fox was voted in as President. We believe this will be a successful team in moving ReclaimKids forward.

We have taken steps through the first half of this year to expand our influence throughout the United States and the Continent of Africa. Two more storage units have been rented and supplies are already coming in as we prepare to ship another container. We are happy to report that 2 ultra-sound machines have been purchased through Med Wish in Cleveland at a wonderful price. These machines will save the lives of children and mothers at the clinic. We are moving forward with our plans to build the surgical wing at the clinic and adding an addition to the library for a computer room. Much of the funding is still needed for these two projects but we are very encouraged that the funds will be able to be raised in a timely fashion so these much needed buildings will soon be available to the people of Liberia.

The education of the children is still of the upmost importance for us at ReclaimKids and providing school supplies for these children is a major part of the work in Africa. Another part of the educational process is to provide tools for the teachers, this include procuring text books and other educational materials to be used in the class rooms. In the middle of July many of the stores place their schools supplies on sale, here in Ohio we are able to purchase 100 notebooks for $17.00, a very small donation in comparison to the benefits reaped from it, other supplies such as crayons, pencils, pen and erasers can be purchased for similar amounts. We would greatly appreciate your support to purchase these supplies so they will be able to be sent with the upcoming shipment. It does not take a large donation to make a difference.

Another project that is in the works is the updating of our web-site. The new site will have up to the minute information on the progress of all projects, current pictures of field visits and will make giving a donation much easier. We will inform everyone when updates are finished and we hope you will visit the site and tell others about it.

We want to express our appreciation for all your support through the years and would like you to see the results of your labor that it has not been in vain. You are truly making a difference in the lives of children and young people. We have enclosed a DVD of the most recent field visit to Liberia which took place in Oct. of 2013. We hope you enjoy it.
